Base Nominated by Cooper Hewitt
The Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum recently nominated Base in New York for its National Design Award for Communications Design. The Cooper-Hewitt, in New York City, is the only museum in the U.S. devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary design.
We submitted 10 projects for consideration: Jeff Koons’s Hulk Elvis show at the Gagosian London; San Francisco Art Institute; Stand, a gourmet hamburger restaurant in Manhattan; Karen Karch; Milk, a NYC-based group of photography-related companies; MoMA QNS; Kiki de Montparnasse; Seville Biennial 2007 (BIACS2); Chelsea Carwash; and Miami Art Museum.
The 2008 National Design Awards will include a series of forums and panel discussions throughout October.
