Full house at the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid

The MAD Design Conference last Saturday and Sunday was by all accounts a huge success. Madrid’s Congress Hall was packed— more than 1,600 visitors attended the two-day event. MAD’s 14 speakers covered a range of design-related topics and media, and master classes delved deeper in typography and information architecture. Everything went according to plan and schedule, and no equipment imploded, exploded, or melted down.

BaseMotion’s Jean-Marc, from Belgium, spoke at the event, in Spanish, and gave a presentation in English about, in part, the integration of words and typography in video. He closed his presentation with a few episodes of Perspectives, BaseMotion’s online “unterview” series, which has become something of an online sensation since its release in November.

BaseMotion also created the animated credits for the event, coming soon to BaseNow…

After only four years of existence, MAD has plans to seed in other cities. More pictures and videos from MAD 009 will be available sometime soon on the Domestika website.
