Jean-Marc discusses our work with BeTV, which put typography in motion and marked Base’s first big motion graphics project.
Saturday saw the conclusion of the second annual Typo Week, hosted by Barcelona’s Bau school of design. No, this wasn’t a week dedicated to typing mistakes. Over six days, this Typo Week included exhibits, conferences, and workshops around typography, editorial design, and typography in motion. Speaking on Saturday was our very own Jean-Marc, creative director of Base’s studio in Barcelona and head of our audiovisual department. … more
Sorry to bother you. You’re probably working. Or pretending like you’re working. Anyhow, we just wanted to let you know about our new website. If you’re curious, the address is basedesign.com. We’re excited about it so we made this little flashing message thing to put some light pressure on you to get there. We hope you like it. (The website, not the pressure.)

Sanaz Azari, qui vient de réaliser son premier film, a reçu le Grand Prix du Public au Festival International de Cinéma de Nyon 2010 pour son documentaire Salaam Isfahan. Stopping passersby to ask if they would be willing to pose for a photo, she engages them in conversation while taking their picture, and all the while the video camera is rolling. … more
In this video, Pat Berman, Professor of Art at Wellesley College, looks at the “W” logo that our Base Lab team created for the school. Suffice it to say that her analysis is astonishing. It is insightful, intelligent and inspired in a way that reminds each of us of “that great teacher we once had.” A must see for everyone interested in typography.
