Barcelona-based creative team Carlitos y Patricia recently approached BaseMotion with a mysterious mission: Create a 10-second spot and incorporate the spoken phrase (translated from Spanish), “Come to the place where bartering rules. Long live the exchange; long live the exchangers!” Additionally BaseMotion was told that the piece would be one of four ultimately assembled into a single 40-second spot according to the Surrealist game/process of collective creation, cadavre exquis. BozarShop, the more-than-a-museum-store at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, opened just before the holidays in 2007. To publicize the opening, BaseMotion made a series of 12 short online movies for the Bozar website. All echo the wacky tone we struck for the identity of BozarShop.
The series was nominated for an award by D&AD, the London-based nonprofit “educational charity that represents the global creative, design and advertising communities,” in the category New Branding Schemes: Small Business. The movies have also been nominated for the 2008 LAUS awards.
As you may have read here, BaseMotion have created the audiovisuals for the Thirst pavilion at this year’s World’s Fair (Expo 2008), in Zaragoza, Spain.
