A recent closet clean-out turned up this curio from BaseWords: an introduction to our writing department from its earliest days. Put together for the internal, ironically named Base Summit, in December 2005, this little presentation was designed to explain to Base’s designers how BaseWords can work with them.

Am writing about new trend. Have noticed people not use articles, subjects, verbs in emails. Am bothered by it. Sound like robots sending telegrams. Tarzan writing headlines. Am wondering what wrong with letter I. OrĀ “the.” Suspect texting to blame. Certainly is not for save time. Am asking self how/why acceptable, especially in biz context. … more
